They call me Randy Shaft.
Outside the drag my name is Mel. When
I’m not performing with the King’s Club I’m working on earning a
degree in fine art. I also play music as much as possible- drums are my
lady. I smell kinda funny. There’s always oil paint on me somewhere. I
get easily distracted and I am rarely bored.
On stage I can usually be seen
performing some variation of punk or electroclash. Performing with
the Kings Club has become a big part of my life and my work. I see
drag as powerful and political performance art that everyone should be
exposed to.

graciously and affectionately ushering me into this royal world of
